Why You’ll Love Korean Corn Cheese

If you’ve ever had Korean corn cheese, you know why someone who hasn’t will love it. If you fall into said “hasn’t had it” category, I’m excited for you because you’re in for a treat!

I fell in love with the cheesy, buttery, corn dish in Koreatown in Los Angeles. It was the first time I tasted it and I made sure that time wasn’t the last. I ordered a second dish that very night and brought it home to reheat for lunch the following day. Then, I learned to make a version of it!

Besides the fact that it’s one of the quickest sides you’ll ever prepare, it also makes the best late-night snack. This yummy comfort food is savory, cheesy, and the perfect leftover dish as it reheats well!

In case you aren’t convinced yet, I’ll once again mention corn, cheese, butter, and garlic powder. Combined. In a single dish. Yum!

Since this is a popular dish that works any time of the year, it’s perfect for your next potluck, dinner party, or any other event where you need a good side or comfort food dish!

FAQs for Korean Corn Cheese

Can I use canned whole-kernel corn?

Yes, you can. Just make sure to drain. You can also use fresh corn. Shave it off the cob first, then start the recipe as directed.

Is it good leftover?

Yes! Corn cheese reheats well in the oven (slower but even heating) or the microwave (quickest, easiest). Nothing truly beats freshly made though!

How do I store the corn cheese?

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

What do I serve with Korean Corn Cheese?

It can be served solo as an appetizer, alongside a main dish (such as Korean or American fried chicken), or with chips or bread.

Want to Change it Up?

For slight changes, you can omit the green onions (especially if you don’t like them or they cause stomach upset). Mozzarella is the traditional cheese used but you can try others such as gouda, gruyère, or even a mix.
