How to Make Authentic Brazilian Lemonade
This simple limeade comes together very easily. So, let’s get to it!
- Cut the limes into quarters.
- Place the limes in a blender and add 4 cups of water.

- Blend for one minute.
- Place a fine mesh sieve over a large bowl and slowly pour the lime mixture through it.

- Add the remaining 2 cups water, white sugar, and sweetened condensed milk to the blender. Blend for about 1 minute on low.

- Gently scoop the foam off the top of the blender, if desired, and enjoy over ice with a slice of lime.

Tips & Tricks – Brazilian Lemonade
Store in a pitcher or jar with a lid, in the fridge, for up to 4 days. We don’t freeze this drink, so I’m unsure of how it would react (it never lasts long enough).
The foam tastes delicious, but some people don’t like the texture. So, it’s based on preference if you remove it. You can hand mix to avoid the foam, but I don’t think it tastes as thoroughly mixed when it’s done by hand. I much prefer the blender.
If you don’t mind lime pulp, you can leave it in your drink, but it’s a little too much for me, so I stick to straining it out.
Try to use limes that have thinner skins. This reduces the amount of pith on the lime, which will ensure your drink doesn’t turn out bitter.
Want to Change it Up?
Sweetness and creaminess can easily be adjusted. Or, add coconut milk or pineapple juice for a tropical touch. Make it boozy with a splash of rum or vodka for a fun twist!
