I’m that girl. You know, the one who swore she would never cook. The one who would choose to knock out Christmas dinner cleanup faster than you can say “I ate too much” just so she wouldn’t have to cook. Well. You know what they say about saying never, right? It makes an as…nevermind, that’s assume…different cliche and this is a family friendly site. Also, if I ever find “they”, I want a word. Just wanna talk!
Fast forward many years later and I love to cook! I taught myself while using a meal delivery service for a few years. It was the perfect way to experiment with many ingredients and cuisines without having to buy full-sized quantities. Now, I love to create my own recipes or develop my own inspiration from common recipes. My favorite is recreating dishes from my travels!

How It All Began
My love of food, of course! Honestly, no one (especially my mom) saw this coming. Being from the South, I was quite the late bloomer with cooking. So, for all you moms out there with kids resistant to learning, there’s hope for them yet. But! You just might have to wait for them to reach their mid-30s!
Along with loving to eat, I enjoy the artistic nature of making, creating, and plating recipes. A scrapbooker-turned-photographer, food photography became a fun pastime, especially while traveling. After creating two travel blogs, I decided to highlight another passion, and voila. Here we are!
Why the name “Culinary Chica”? It combines cooking with my love for the Spanish language. I’m not quite fluent but I’m getting there!
