How to Make July 4th Rice Krispies Treats
This simple patriotic dessert comes together very easily. So, let’s get to it!
- Make the Treats. In a large pot, heat butter over medium heat, until melted.
- Add miniature marshmallows, stirring over heat, until marshmallows are melted.
- Remove from the heat and stir in cereal, mixing until everything is evenly incorporated..

- Assemble the Treats. Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Pour Krispies mixture into the 9 x 13 dish, pressing down into the pan evenly.
- Give the Krispies about an hour to set.

- Remove from the pan and cut into 15 squares.

- Decorate the Treats. In a microwave safe bowl, melt candy melts by microwaving on 30 second intervals.

- Pour the melted candy into a piping bag.
- Snip off the tip and drizzle the red candy over the krispie treats. You won’t use all of the candy, since there are two more colors to add.
- Repeat for the blue and white candy melts.
- Sprinkle with red white and blue jimmies sprinkles.

- Serve the Treats. Allow the candy to set and enjoy.
